In the steel and process industry, precision, safety, and reliability are essential, especially when dealing with high-temperature, heavy-duty environments like Coke Oven Plants.
One of our completed projects demonstrates exactly how our team approaches these challenges with a combination of engineering expertise, efficient workflows, and dedication to quality.
Over the course of approximately three months, our team, consisting of 1 engineer and 2 designers/drafters, successfully delivered a complete support structure package for the plant. Despite the compact size of the team, the output was substantial: 11,390 modeled parts with a total structural weight of 58 tonnes.
Project Scope
The project included several critical structural components supporting both operations and maintenance activities within the plant:
1. Stair Tower (23 m)
We designed a full stair tower providing safe access to the top of the 23-meter-tall coolers. Stability, ergonomics, and maintenance accessibility were key design considerations.
2. Walkways & Operational Platforms
A system of walkways and platforms was engineered to ensure safe daily operation and ease of movement across the structure.
3. Pipe Racks
The structure supports both main and auxiliary pipelines, requiring precision in geometry, load transfer, and coordination with process requirements.
Our Responsibilities
Our team handled the project from engineering analysis to fabrication deliverables:
1. Connection design and structural calculations based on the client’s global analysis model
2. Detailed 3D modeling of all structural components
3. Complete fabrication package, including GA drawings, assembly drawings, single-part drawings, and CNC/NC data
This comprehensive approach ensured clarity for the fabrication team, reduced production risks, and maintained project timelines.
